Clatsop Community College is delighted to announce the receipt of two substantial grants from Providence Community Health, totaling $130,000. These grants mark a significant investment in the college’s Nursing Program, emphasizing the importance of local nursing graduates in advancing community healthcare. Along with their generous investment to CCC, Providence Seaside Hospital also donated 7 state-of-the-art hospital beds for the nursing lab rooms at the campus.
Providence Community Health, through its Community Health Grants, has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering healthier communities. Jason Plamondon, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at Providence Seaside Hospital, expressed the organization’s dedication to providing top-quality care for the community. Plamondon stated, “We believe in the power of education, and we trust Clatsop Community College to prepare nursing students to become exceptional registered nurses. We are proud to support their nursing program to grow our own professionals in our community.”
Doris Jepson, CCC Director of Nursing & Allied Health, highlighted the transformative impact of these grants, stating, “These grants will ultimately create better lives for our graduates and their families.”
The Clatsop WORKS Program partners with local employers to provide local students, ages 16 and up, with professional, paid internships in Clatsop County, with the goals of community building, economic development, promoting local career opportunities, retaining local talent, and providing work-based learning opportunities to local students.
